(registered 2026-10-09, last updated 2026-10-09) Scheme name: tcxp Status: Provisional Applications/protocols that use this scheme name: The Typed Context Protocol (tcxp), developed in the W3C Typed Context Protocol Community Group. A tcxp URI encodes a decision state (a query, expression or record, plus its variables and metadata) as an address that encodees and decodes Context Objects losslely. It is used by the open-source tcxp libraries, published on npm as @tcxp/tcxp and on PyPI as tcxp. The protocol is in early development and is being evaluated by members of the Community Group. tcxp URIs are designed to travel as a sidecar alongside other protocol-based communication. Security considerations: Parsing or reading a tcxp URI never executes code. Execution happens only on an explicit call marker, and only when every required variable is bound. tcxp URIs can carry query text and data values, so applications should treat them like any URI that may contain sensitive data. A full security analysis will accompany a request for permanent status.
